Porter County Community Foundation

At the Porter County Community Foundation

we put the power to do good in your hands. Together we build a stronger Porter County.

The Need: Studies show that children who are developmentally ready for kindergarten are four times more likely to graduate from high school. Further, high school graduates earn an average of $500,000 more, live nine years longer, and are six times less likely to be arrested than those who do not graduate. Yet, 1/3 of the adult population in Porter County struggles with literacy, making it difficult to read street signs or complete a job application.

The Solutions: The Foundation supports organizations, like Ready NWI and Neighbors’ Educational Opportunities, that enhance learning and literacy from early childhood through adulthood. Together we’ve helped to fund school readiness programs and adult education.
