Sample Bequest Language

Outright Gifts

If your client wishes to make a gift to the Foundation, the appropriate beneficiary designation is as follows:

“I hereby give ____________ to the Porter County Community Foundation, Inc.”; or

“I hereby give ____________ to the Porter County Community Foundation, Inc. to be allocated to the Porter County Community Fund”; or

“I hereby give ____________to the Porter County Community Foundation, Inc. to be allocated to the Operating Endowment Fund.”

Gift for an affiliated organization

If your client wishes to make a gift to the Foundation for the benefit of an existing or new affiliated organization, the appropriate beneficiary designation is as follows:

“I hereby give____________ to the Porter County Community Foundation, Inc. to be allocated to the _________________________________ Fund.” (i.e. “I hereby give five percent (5%) of my residuary estate to the Porter County Community Foundation, Inc. to be allocated to the United Way of Porter County General Endowment Fund.”)

A gift may be designated to multiple affiliated funds.

The foregoing designations apply whether your client is executing a will, trust or designating a life insurance or individual retirement account beneficiary.

If you wish to make a gift in your estate plan, the appropriate beneficiary designation is as follows:
